Dr. Cedric Lewis

Dr. Cedric LewisDr. Cedric Lewis is a 1996 graduate of the Oregon Health Sciences University, where he received his doctorate in dental medicine. In his continuing education, he has completed courses in esthetics & implants, anesthesia & pain control, cosmetic dentistry & the diagnosis & treatment of TMJ (i.e. jaw pain) disorders. Dr. Lewis is a charter member of the prestigious Hawaii Terry Tanaka Dental Study Group for prosthodontics. Dr. Lewis is also a volunteer dentist for the Special Olympics Hawaii & the Kokua Kalihi Valley Comprehensive Family Services, a health center where he started a dental mentorship program for disadvantaged kids. Dr. Lewis is one of 12 dentists in the country, & the only one from Hawaii, chosen by the American Dental Association Institute for Diversity in Leadership. In 2008 through 2015, Dr. Lewis was voted by his peers as one of Hawaii’s Best Dentists in Honolulu Magazine & voted best dentist in Honolulu Magazine from 2003–2021. In his spare time, Dr. Lewis enjoys spending time with his wife, Kristin, his son, Cole, & his two Pomeranians, Pooh Bear & Snoopy.

Dr. Melissa Liao

Dr. Melissa LiaoDr. Melissa Liao was born & raised in West Lafayette, Indiana. She spent her childhood in Taiwan & it was during that time she became fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Her father, who was a dermatologist in Taiwan, was her inspiration in joining the healthcare field. In 2016, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Liao’s passion is in helping people & she has participated in international missionary trips & provided dental care to the people of Haiti & Honduras. Her love for water sports & lifestyle for the ocean brought her to Hawaii where she fell in love with the Aloha spirit. She has practiced as a general dentist for the past 3 years in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island. She feels at home in Hawaii & looks forward to joining Wai’alae Dental Care where she strives for excellent dental care for the community.

Dr. David Hoang

Dr. David HoangDr. Hoang is originally from Honolulu, HI, & is a graduate of Creighton University where he received his BS & DDS degrees. Before returning to Hawaii in 2019, Dr. Hoang practiced for a decade & a half in Nevada & Texas, refining his art, efficiency, & techniques in dentistry. In his spare time, Dr. Hoang enjoys rediscovering Hawaii with his wife, Karen, & daughter, Leah.

Dr. Kristi Koyanagi

Dr. Kristi KoyanagiDr. Kristi Koyanagi was born & raised right here in Honolulu. She graduated from Mid-Pacific Institute where she took an active role in the performing arts program for both ballet and contemporary dance. She initially attended undergraduate college in Oregon but missed the aloha of Hawaii & completed the last two years of her degree at the University of Hawaii, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology & a minor in dance. While in school, she began working as a dental assistant & found a love for dentistry. She carried this love into dental school at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, where she received numerous awards & scholarships for her successes through dental school. When she’s not building relationships with patients, she enjoys traveling, yoga & hanging out with her dog, Nala.
